Handling and transport of an element of the Ariane rocket in an exceptional convoy

With more than 40 years of experience in the national specialised transport of the aeronautics sector, Marchal Technologies offers tailor-made solutions for manufacturers in these sectors.

Because of the value of the equipment transported, these contracts mobilise significant resources over very short deadlines. They therefore require a high level of responsiveness on the part of the various players. Carriers and partner suppliers are required to ensure impeccable punctuality. They must therefore be able to be flexible to guarantee a high-quality service.

Exceptional transport of Ariane rocket components

As part of its transport activities specialising in aeronautics and defence, Marchal is a regular contributor to Ariane Group, at the Les Mureaux site, in France in the Yvelines. The service consists of transporting the Ariane Dual Launch System (SYLDA) between the two Ariane sites in Les Mureaux.

Carried out over a short distance, these transports must nevertheless be carried out in exceptional category 3 convoys because the convoy uses the departmental road.

For this service, the Marchal agency provides a wide range of vehicles each time adapted to the nature of the project and the element to be transported. Very often carried out by means of overhead cranes for the loading of our semi-trailer, the service may, for example, require the use of low-loaders or flatbed semi-trailers. More recently, handling has been carried out using crane arm trucks.
