WHAT DOES A TEAM LEADER DO?

A Team Leader plans, supervises and coordinates operations carried out on customer sites. Responsible for both the team and the successful delivery of each project, they ensure work is completed safely, on time and in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEAM LEADER

The main responsibilities include:

Team Management: Organise the work of operators and technicians, allocate tasks and coordinate on-site activities.

Operational Supervision: Oversee every stage of the project, from equipment loading through to final completion.

Equipment Management: Inspect lifting and handling equipment before use and ensure it remains safe and fully operational.

Customer Liaison: Act as the customer's primary contact on site and respond to specific project requirements.

Reporting & Administration: Provide operational updates and site reports to the Operations Manager and commercial teams.

Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict application of all health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations.

Problem Solving: Respond quickly to technical or organisational challenges to ensure projects continue smoothly and efficiently.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED?

The Team Leader position is generally achieved after several years of experience in heavy handling, specialised transport, lifting operations or other technical field roles.
