Heavy handling and lifting ensure the movement and installation of large, heavy loads. As true cornerstones of industrial companies, these operations allow a production line to run smoothly by transporting, installing new machines, or removing old ones.
Far from being limited to simply moving loads, these operations require planning, quick reactions, and adaptability to numerous logistical constraints. They are therefore carried out by professionals with specialized expertise.
It is precisely thanks to this expertise that Bonal Manutention, a specialist in lifting and heavy handling, has established itself as a trusted partner for industrial companies in Hauts-de-Seine (92).
The agency’s most recent assignment is a concrete example of responsiveness and adaptability in the face of unforeseen circumstances.
The agency was called in to urgently install a compressor inside a factory building.
Given the urgency, the agency’s operational schedule was reorganized in order to intervene on the site the very next day.
A preparatory analysis was quickly carried out. Based on the on-site assessment, our teams precisely defined the type of intervention required, as well as the appropriate human and material resources. This preliminary study is essential before any lifting operation, since even seemingly minor details can impact feasibility. It is the crucial step that ensures the smooth running of the operation, compliance with deadlines, and safety conditions.
Our teams significantly re-evaluated the human and material resources initially estimated by the client.
Originally assessed at one handler and one forklift for a 20-minute intervention, these resources were clearly insufficient compared to the reality on the ground. That is why our team leader opted for a crane arm — a much more powerful lifting device — along with the mobilization of two handlers.
Our teams demonstrated outstanding responsiveness.
Indeed, the schedule had to be readjusted several times due to unforeseen issues in the client’s organization, leading in particular to updates of the quotation.
Furthermore, upon arrival on site, we discovered that unloading was required, involving the removal of an old compressor and a dryer — both particularly heavy and bulky pieces of equipment (especially the compressors). This additional, unforeseen task forced us to adjust our intervention and quickly find tailor-made solutions on site. Thanks to our responsiveness, we were able to integrate this extra handling without compromising deadlines.
Finally, we had to quickly overcome a technical challenge when moving the equipment through the building façade. The narrow opening made access more difficult than expected. Our handlers decided to tilt the compressors using hoists previously secured to the ceiling inside the building. Given the technical difficulty of this handling operation, the mobilization of four specialized handlers was ultimately necessary to ensure the intervention’s safety.
Client satisfaction was our top priority. This operation illustrates the complexity of lifting and handling tasks, which involve numerous logistical challenges from start to finish.
Congratulations to our teams, who once again demonstrated their ability to reorganize quickly and efficiently in the face of unforeseen events, and successfully carried out this demanding project.
Bonal Manutention has both the expertise and the technical resources to support you in all types of projects.
