Every year in September, the European Heritage Days offer the public a unique opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of cultural heritage across Europe. On 20 and 21 September 2025, monuments, museums, libraries and historic sites will open their doors to highlight the importance of preserving and passing on this shared heritage.
For more than 45 years, the BOVIS Group and its specialist department Bovis Fine Art have been committed to this mission: protecting, preserving and enhancing artistic and architectural heritage, both in France and internationally.
Over the decades, our teams have been involved in numerous landmark projects, including the relocation of major works of art, delicate handling operations within listed monuments, the protection of unique architectural features, and support for long-term restoration projects.
Our role goes far beyond transportation; it is part of a comprehensive heritage preservation approach, working closely with heritage architects, conservators, museums and restoration companies.
Bovis Fine Art adapts every operation to the specific requirements of each site and each work of art, ensuring maximum protection at every stage:
Removal and reinstallation of works of art: paintings, sculptures, antique furniture, fragile objects and entire collections are packed, inventoried and relocated with the utmost care.
Protection of sensitive decorative and architectural elements: our teams design bespoke protection systems for wood panelling, staircases, tapestries, coffered ceilings, monumental chandeliers and historic fireplaces throughout restoration works.
Preliminary assessment and tailored technical solutions: self-supporting structures, custom supports, specialist foam protection and protective coverings—every operation begins with a detailed risk assessment to implement the safest possible solutions.
Packing and secure storage: our climate-controlled, highly secure Fine Art storage facilities accommodate both fragile artworks and monumental pieces under optimal conservation conditions.
Today, the Bovis Fine Art department operates throughout France and internationally through its subsidiaries in Spain and the United Arab Emirates. Thanks to its network of specialist branches, the BOVIS Group provides unique coverage, working in close proximity to cultural institutions and heritage sites.
Our expertise is built on:
Through every project we undertake, we share one strong conviction: preserving heritage, whether architectural or movable, is a collective responsibility. Protecting a tapestry, securing a historic staircase, relocating a monumental sculpture or transferring a museum collection all contribute to ensuring that these witnesses of history can continue to be admired by future generations.
On the occasion of this year's European Heritage Days, the BOVIS Group reaffirms its commitment to placing its expertise and commitment to excellence at the service of preserving and passing on our shared cultural heritage.
