Secure Transport and Handling in Cannes for an Art Exhibition

Specialized transport, secure storage, and delicate handling in support of Jean-Michel Othoniel’s Poussière d’étoiles exhibition in Cannes

As part of the major exhibition Poussière d’étoiles by artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, presented at La Malmaison in Cannes from May 2025 to January 2026, the Bovis Group deployed several of its core areas of expertise to manage monumental, fragile, and valuable artworks. Thanks to the involvement of its subsidiary Bovis Fine Art Côte d’Azur, this project showcases the Group’s ability to deliver specialized transport, secure storage, and delicate handling for the most ambitious artistic projects.

Artwork Transport with On-Site Installation: A Tailor-Made Service

In this project, carried out in partnership with Transexpo (responsible for packing and long-distance transportation), the Bovis Fine Art Côte d’Azur teams handled local rotations between Antibes and Cannes using vehicles specifically designed for transporting sensitive artworks. The installation of the most complex pieces, including monumental glass and metal sculptures, drew upon our specialist skills in technical installation, event logistics, and the placement of artworks in coordination with the artist and museum teams.

Secure Storage in a Controlled Environment: The Bovis Standard

Before being exhibited, the artworks were received and temporarily stored in one of Bovis Fine Art Côte d’Azur’s secure warehouses. Designed to meet museum standards, our storage spaces feature precise temperature and humidity control, permanent video surveillance, anti-intrusion systems, and real-time tracking of all movements. This level of service ensures optimal protection of cultural assets throughout the entire logistical preparation phase.

Handling Monumental Artworks: Mastering Oversized Loads

Handling spectacular pieces such as Le Collier suspended from the balcony, Gold Rose on the forecourt, or Le Nœud de Babel installed on La Malmaison’s rooftop required exceptional means. By using truck-mounted cranes and mobilizing technicians specialized in handling monumental artworks, the Bovis Group once again demonstrated its ability to combine millimetre precision with the management of complex structural constraints. These operations highlight the Group’s expertise in precision lifting, installation of oversized artworks, and heavy handling in sensitive sites.

A Synergy of Expertise Serving Major Cultural Projects

By combining its skills in fine art logistics, specialized handling, secure transport, crane operations, technical storage, and project coordination, the Bovis Group positions itself as a strategic partner for cultural institutions, contemporary artists, and art event organizers both nationally and internationally.
