Delivery and high-precision installation of a laboratory marble in Paris

The BOVIS Group recently carried out the delivery, crane handling and installation of a laboratory marble at the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN) in Paris. This complex project was carried out in several stages, from the receipt of the packages to the final set-up, while respecting the specific requirements of our client.

Receiving, storage and preparation

The first phase of our intervention consisted of receiving the 5 boxes containing the laboratory marble in our logistics warehouses south of Paris. We stored these materials in our secure warehouses until the scheduled delivery date. On the day of the performance, we loaded the crates into our depot, then secured them and prepared them for transport. Our vehicle, an 80-tonne crane arm truck, then transported the crates to the delivery site in Paris, at the MNHN.

Crane handling

When we arrived at the site, our team and vehicles were set up in the parking area reserved by our partner. With the help of our crane arm we carried out the crane of the laboratory marble, with a delicate passage of the crates through a window of the building. This delicate step was successfully carried out thanks to the expertise of our team. The marble was then deposited on a pallet dock created by us.

Internal transport and installation

The marble was transported using our pallet truck to the laboratory's destination room. Once on site, we set up our gantry to install the laboratory marble according to the layout plan provided by the customer. The other boxes were transported via the goods lift and placed in the destination room.

Finalizing

Finally, we removed our equipment from the site, marking the end of our intervention. The mission was validated by the client, confirming the success of our service.

To guarantee the success of the operation, several conditions had to be met by the client. First of all, it was essential to ensure free access to the site for our teams and vehicles. Then, the dismantling and reassembly of the window was carried out according to the instructions of our team to allow the passage of the marble.

Despite the challenges posed by the window passage, the installation of the laboratory marble was successfully completed. The marble is now in place, ready to be used for scientific experiments. Thanks to our expertise and state-of-the-art equipment, the project went smoothly, ensuring the complete satisfaction of our client.
