Handling and Installation of an MRI in Paris

Delivery and installation of a state-of-the-art MRI at Clinique Mont-Louis in Paris: a heavy and complex handling operation

At the beginning of 2025, Bovis Transports carried out a major technical operation at Clinique Mont-Louis, located in the 11ᵗʰ arrondissement of Paris: the delivery and installation of a 6-ton, state-of-the-art MRI.

Thanks to our expertise in heavy handling, specialized transport, and medical equipment installation, we successfully met a demanding logistical challenge, marked by specific access constraints and the need for the highest level of precision.
 

A specialized team mobilized for an exceptional project

For this operation, six specialized handlers and one crane operator managed the delivery phase, while three specialized electromechanics worked for a week to complete the full installation of the MRI, including:

• Mechanical assembly
• Electrical wiring
• Compliance according to the manufacturer’s specifications

This organization ensured a fast and secure commissioning, minimizing any downtime for the healthcare facility.

Technical resources adapted to significant access constraints

The delivery required a customized lifting and transport system:

• Bovis 100-ton mobile crane for MRI handling
• Truck with crane arm for transporting the magnet
• Two 19-ton trucks for transporting ancillary equipment (electrical cabinets, accessories, etc.)

A key feature of the project: access to the imaging room was achieved through a skydome that had been dismantled beforehand, requiring precise, millimeter-level coordination among our teams.
