Office Move from Caen to Rouen: A Large-Scale Operation Managed by DML (Bovis Group)

As part of the reorganization of a major company in the tertiary sector in Normandy, the DML agency of the Bovis Group successfully carried out an office relocation from Caen to Rouen, involving over 200 workstations. This complex operation, which took place over 15 days, required the technical and logistical expertise of our teams specialized in administrative and IT relocations.

Streamlined Logistics for a Successful Inter-Site Move

The mission entrusted to DML was to transfer all the equipment from a business site in Caen to new premises in Rouen, while ensuring business continuity for the employees. For this inter-site move, six specialized movers and three heavy-duty vehicles were deployed daily, operating in rotation to ensure smooth and consistent transport of items.

The transferred equipment included:

• Office furniture (desks, chairs, cabinets),
• Administrative archives and the documentation center’s library,
• IT equipment (CPUs, monitors, printers, and servers),
• Sensitive items such as safes and strong cabinets.

To ensure the safety of the materials and adherence to the schedule, DML deployed a wide range of professional moving equipment:

• Mesh cages for the secure transfer of IT equipment,
• Rolling library carts for moving archives and the documentation center,
• Dollies for effortless transport of rolling furniture,
• Palbacs for structured movement of cabinets,
• Escalera stair climbers to manage access constraints, especially for moving heavy furniture safely via staircases.

Temporary Storage in a Secured Warehouse

In parallel with the relocation, part of the furniture and archives was stored in our secured warehouse in Caen until the renovation work at the Rouen site was completed. The items were palletized, shrink-wrapped, and stored on heavy-duty racking, with full traceability thanks to our Peg v3 management software. This system allows the client to monitor the condition and location of their assets in real-time.
