Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
Bovis Auvergne, a branch of the Bovis Group based in Cournon d’Auvergne, recently completed the full relocation of a medical research laboratory from Lempdes (63) to a brand-new research facility located at the Biopôle in Saint-Beauzire.
This operation highlights the full expertise of our teams in managing scientific laboratory relocations, including specialized handling, secure packing, transport under controlled technical conditions, cleanroom transfers, administrative relocations, and temporary or long-term storage of laboratory equipment.
The laboratory relocation included the transfer of all scientific and biomedical equipment, such as:
To ensure the safety and integrity of all scientific instruments, each item was carefully packed using appropriate materials: antistatic film, high-density bubble wrap, foam padding, rigid covers, and more. The most fragile devices were packed in foam-lined flight cases and IT transport cages, specially designed to protect electronic and optical equipment during transport.
All technical handling was carried out by our highly trained staff, fully versed in laboratory handling protocols and in close coordination with the research center’s management team.
The transport between both sites was completed using specialized laboratory transport vehicles, equipped with:
These technical features ensured temperature stability, shock absorption, and optimal security for the transported items throughout the entire relocation process.
The project also involved the transfer of a cleanroom, a highly regulated research space where particulate cleanliness and environmental sterility are critical. Cleanroom relocation is a delicate process that requires strict protocols, specialized equipment, and experienced staff.
Bovis Auvergne has recognized expertise in cleanroom operations, and our teams have been trained in ISO 5 to ISO 8 environments. For this operation, we deployed:
Cleanroom-compliant equipment (stainless steel trolleys, antistatic protection, non-marking white wheels)
Specialized attire (lab coats, hairnets, overshoes)
Floor and wall protection systems (antistatic film, dedicated movement paths)
We also ensured the reinstallation of filtration systems, laminar flow units, and containment workstations, with the utmost care to maintain the room’s operational sterility and cleanliness in the new facility.
The laboratory move extended beyond scientific equipment. Bovis Auvergne also managed the relocation of the administrative section of the research center, including office furniture, filing cabinets, IT units, servers, peripherals, and both scientific and administrative archives.
For this task, we used:
Our teams also handled the disconnection and reconnection of IT systems, with full traceability, labelling, and mapping, ensuring seamless reactivation of operations in the new premises.
Certain pieces of legacy equipment, not intended for immediate use, were placed into storage at our Cournon d’Auvergne facility. These items were palletized, labeled, and stored on heavy-duty racks, in dedicated areas designed for medical and laboratory equipment.
Our storage facilities are:
This professional storage solution allows clients to free up operational space while ensuring their equipment is stored under optimal preservation and safety conditions.
This exemplary operation reflects Bovis Auvergne’s capability to manage complex laboratory relocations, even in technically demanding environments, under tight schedules, and with high-value equipment.
As a recognized leader in scientific relocation, Bovis Auvergne regularly supports:
With the backing of the Bovis Group, which carries out over 20 complete laboratory relocations each year, 25 kilometers of medical archive transfers annually, and the handling of 90 medical scanners and 120 radiology rooms per year, we are fully equipped to deliver turnkey relocation services, tailored to meet the highest standards of the biomedical and scientific sectors.
